About Dr. Pichiorri

Born in Rome, Italy, Dr Pichiorri grew up in a family rooted in engineering, statistics, and organisational sciences. She developed an early appreciation for analytical thinking and problem solving, influences that later shaped her scientific career. She completed her studies in molecular biology and biochemistry at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, earning a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Enzymology in 1999 with top honours.

Dr. Pichiorri later moved to the United States to pursue advanced cancer research, working at Thomas Jefferson University and The Ohio State University before continuing her work in translational oncology. Her research has explored the molecular and epigenetic mechanisms that drive blood cancers and has contributed to the development of new targeted therapeutic approaches.

Throughout her career, Dr. Pichiorri has focused on bridging the gap between laboratory discovery and clinical application. Her work integrates preclinical research and early-phase clinical trials, with the goal of advancing treatments that improve outcomes for patients with complex haematologic diseases.
